FATHER JAN KACZKOWSKI – JOHNNY
FATHER JAN KACZKOWSKI (1977-2016) – devoted his life to serving the sick and the dying. He spoke about challenging, existential matters with wisdom and humour.
Father Jan was admired by believers and non-believers alike. He considered everyone a valuable HUMAN and believed that people deserved a SECOND CHANCE.

„Johnny” is a real, universal story about believing that every person deserves another shot. As Patryk Galewski, who received a chance for a new life from Father Jan Kaczkowski.
Extraordinary performances by Dawid Ogrodnik and Piotr Trojan contributed to 2 two Audience Awards at the two of the most important Polish Film Festivals.

PAKA PROJECT
„JOHNNY” launched the PAKA project. Patryk Galewski, today a chef, meets with young people in schools and correction facilities. While cooking together and talking about his transformation – he gives young people time and attention, speaking their language. They exchange about the most important values such as LOVE, FAMILY, RESPECT.
He shares with them what he received from Father Jan – including the belief that every person is important and valuable.
All this happens during culinary workshops culminating in a shared meal. Cooking – a basic life skill, provides a sense of independence, agency and belonging to a group but also possibility to return to society and pursue a „normal” life.
